I have official Ubuntu 24.04 LTS installed on my Raspberry Pi 5.

Currently, the behaviour is that after 10 minutes of inactivity, the screen goes black, but the monitor is still on and...

I am happy to report that today I installed Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and the DVD-ROM is now working! Seems that the new kernel has the driver built-in.

I too like things to work without tinkering around, but in this case I will also not learn anything about Linux if I just discard the current hardware to replace it with one that might or might not...

Anything I can do to make sg_map map it properly?
