Got it working finally, I just need one more terminal command to get it working: sudo linux-backports-moudules-wireless-lucid-generic
After doing the previous steps I got the 3G/4G modem to work, but still no wifi.
The intel site went back online and i managed to download the driver and do all the above steps, but the card still shows up as disabled. I made a new thread here with more details....
